Upcoming Community Events for Parents and CaregiversAlaVie (Formerly Bay Area Boot Camp) Fitness Day in the ParkJoin us for free fitness in the park! Visit our website to find out more information about the FREE workouts and fun events we have going on in your area. This is a great chance to jump start your fitness routines and learn about health/fitness resources in our community. AlaVie offers its PowerVie Boot Camp program for women at Heather Farms Park in Walnut Creek on an ongoing basis. Members of the Lamorinda Mom's Club are invited to participate. Check out the website at www.alaviefitness.com for more details. Parents Night Out--Lafayette Community CenterDrop off the kids from 4 to 8 years old and enjoy a fabulous night out. While you are out having an amazing time your children will be having fun doing arts and crafts, playing games, and watching a movie. Children may bring jammies and a sleeping bag if desired. Contra Costa Jewish Day School School ToursThe Contra Costa Jewish Day School, located in Lafayette is currently in their 7th year and have 94 students that range in age from K-8th grade. The Moraga Juniors' 5th Annual Through the Garden Gate TourShowcasing six spectacular gardens in Lamorinda on Saturday, May 3 from 10am to 3pm. Proceeds benefit the Lamorinda Senior Transportation Program and the We Care Services for Children. Buy tickets for $30 (an optional box lunch is $10) at Orchard Nursery, Across the Way, and McDonnell Nursery. www.throughthgardengate.org The Lafayette Juniors' 9th Annual Tour of Lafayette's KitchensTour six spectacular new and newly remodeled kitchens and a gourmet lunch in a beautiful garden setting in Lafayette on Saturday, May 17 from 10am-3pm. Tickets are $35 per person and the optional box lunch is $12. ($25.00 is tax deductible.) This years major beneficiary of the tour is Contra Costa Interfaith Housing. celebration of reading, lifelong learning, and the enduring value of libraries.
Some 50 nationally known and local authors will speak at 25 community libraries
throughout Contra Costa County. There will be authors and additional fun
activities for everyone – adults,
teens, and children. All programs are free. The Reading Festival’s theme this
year is Relax, Recharge, Rethink. Join the Moms in Motion Lamorinda Running Team!Come out and get some exercise, meet new people and have FUN! Join the Orinda Junior Womens' Club!The Orinda Junior's are looking for a few good women to join the club! The group sponsors smaller projects for local community programs and organizations including the Orinda Convelescent Home, Bay Area Crisis Nursury, Oakland Children's Hospital Family House, and STAND! Against Domestic Violence, among others. It's a great way to not only make new friends, but give back to the community as well. The group meets the first Tuesday of every month at a member's home.
