Looking for ways to keep your kids busy in Lamorinda? Check out our list of upcoming community events and on-going activities of special interest to children ages five and younger. From science fairs to holiday happenings to special exhibits at our local museums, these local happenings are sure to inspire some memorable family adventures. Upcoming Community Events and Activities for Kids
 

Spring Programs at the Moraga Library

There is lots going on this spring at the Moraga Library!  Here's just ongoing things starting April 8 through May 28:

  • Tuesdays, 4:00pm: Crafty Storytime--Stories and Crafts for ages 3 to 7.
  • Wednesdays, 10:15am: Baby Lapsit--Stories, songs and bounces for ages 6 mos. to 24 mos. with adult participation.
  • Wednesdays, 10:45am: ToddlerTime--Stories, rhymes and fun for ages 2 to 3.5 with adult participation.
  • Saturdays, 10:30am to 11:15am: Art Soup--Saturday fun for ages 2 to 4 with adult participation.

In addition, the library is having these special events:

  • Thursday, March 20 at 7:00pm: Evening Storytime--Bring your smiles, listening ears, and your teddy bear! For ages 3 and up. 
  • Thursday, April 17: See Dan Chan the Magic Man and Kat the Acrobat celebrating National Library Week. For ages 3 and up.
  • Thursday, May 8: Royal Afternoon--Calling all princes and princesses for an hour of crafts and treats. Dress for the occasion! For ages 3 and up.
  • Saturday, May 17 at 1:00pm: Reading Festival Celebration--Visit with wildlife scientist, Wallace Nichols author of Chelonia: Return of the Sea Turtle.
  • Saturday, May 17 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm: Library Open House--Visit the library and enjoy crafts, face painting, balloon animals and refreshments. For all ages.

Temple Isaiah Shabbat Groups for Toddlers
Temple Isaiah invites you to join the Ganeinu fun-filled Shabbat groups for you and your little one. Come to play, create, have fun, sing songs, do Shabbat together, learn about Jewish holidays and traditions, and get to know other families in the community. The Ganeinu Toddler Shabbat is geared for toddlers who are between the ages of 16-28 months (as of January 31) and happens 9:15 - 10:45 am. The Ganeinu Baby Shabbat is geared for infants and toddlers who are between the ages of 0-16 months (as of January 31) and happens 10:45 - 11:45 am. The groups are open to the wide community. Lafayette Nursery School's Community Playschool

Want a place that your preschooler can play and be with other children while you meet other parents? Drop in and join the fun on Thursday mornings from 10:00am to 11:30am at the Preschool. Cost is only $1.50 per child or a $2.00 family donation. The dates for fun are:

  • May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

Camp Elephant Pharm Now in Walnut Creek

The Elephant Pharm has opened a location in Walnut Creek and is offering classes for children ages 4-12. The classes include Kid's Yoga, Circuit Training, Food Detectives and others. Go to www.elephantpharm.com for more information.

Mini Mondays at the Lindsay Wildlife Museum

Mondays, 10am - 12pm. Fun activities for children ages 2-4 and their caregivers. Story time, arts and crafts, activity time, up-close experience with live animals, refreshments, no registration required. $10 for the first child ($8 museum members), $5 for each additional child ages 2 and up. Children under 2 free. Children must be accompanied by an adult care-giver. www.wildlife-museum.org
