Mattel recalls 155,000 new toys Print Email
Nov 6th 2007 - Mattel has recalled 155,000 toys made in Mexico because of fears that small pieces could break off and cause young children to choke.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall involving 155,000 Laugh & Learn™ Learning Kitchen™ toy play sets imported by Fisher-Price Inc. The recall involves a play kitchen learning toy with a pretend refrigerator, range and sink. The sets, which cost about $70, were sold between May and October 2007 and were manufactured in Mexico. Pieces of the faucet or the clock hands can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children. There have been 48 reports of small parts separating from the toys, including two reports of children gagging on pieces, one report of a child who started choking on a piece and one report of a child who choked on a piece.
