Payless recalls boots with guitar-shaped zipper pulls Print Email
October 18, 2007 - Payless ShoeSource is recalling about 30 pairs of girls' boots sold in Canada because of a risk that the guitar-shaped zipper pulls on the inside of the boots can get tangled and trip the child. The $39.99 boots, sold in toddler and youth sizes, are black with a guitar silhouette on the outside and the words Hanna Montana on the sole, the company said in a statement issued Thursday.

Only boots with guitar-shaped pulls sold in August and September 2007 are being recalled. Consumers should take them away from children immediately and return them to a Payless store for a refund or exchange, the statement said.
Payless, a unit of Kansas-based Collective Brands Inc., said the recall is voluntary. It said it has also issued a voluntary recall in the United States in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
