Sign up for eScrip, and Earn “Free Money” for Lamorinda Schools! Did you know that if all ~540 LMC member families were registered on eScrip, we could collectively contribute over $27,000 to Lamorinda elementary schools this year? It’s true. And we hope that as many of you as possible will take three minutes this month to register for eScrip - even if you only have a newborn at home. eScrip is a free and easy fundraising program that allows schools to raise money through purchases made at eScrip merchants like Safeway, Diablo Foods, Whole Foods, Macy’s, and over 700 online merchants. When you register your credit, ATM, and membership cards with eScrip, a percentage of the money you spend with those merchants is automatically sent to the organization of your choice. While most Lamorinda families with school-age kids are registered, only a small percentage of LMC families - those with younger children - are aware of the program and its positive contributions to our community. Why register for eScrip? How important is eScrip to your local school? eScrip becomes even more important as our children grow older: Orinda Intermediate School raised $30,000 from eScrip last year, and Miramonte High School raised nearly $100,000. Results were similar in Moraga and Lafayette - with eScrip making large contributions to all public schools in our area. Why register now? Not signing up is like leaving money on the table. You’ll be asked to sign up when your child enters kindergarten (all Lamorinda public schools ask families to register, since eScrip is such an important part of the school’s budget), so there’s no reason to wait. It’s fast, easy, and will give you that warm fuzzy feeling! Sign up by following three simple steps: Step 2 –Choose which school you want to receive your donations by entering the group Name or ID for your children’s elementary school. See the Lamorinda Elementary School Group IDs to the left. If you live outside Lamorinda, are considering private school, or want to contribute to another organization (your preschool, church or synagogue, scout troop, etc.), search www.escrip.com for eScrip-supported organizations in your city. You can donate to as many as three different organizations. Step 3 - Shop as you normally would at participating eScrip merchants, like Safeway. Each time you use your registered card a percentage of your purchase will be donated by the participating merchant to your school of choice. Safeway is eScrip’s largest donor to Lamorinda schools.
