SLEEP CLASSES OFFERED AT BIRTHWAYS IN BERKELEY

Dear Doulas, and clinicians serving families with young ones,

I wanted to share my upcoming class with you, and invite you to share the
attached flyer with other doula¹s, lactation consultants, pediatricians,
clinicians serving families with young ones, as well as your clients. I have
limited the class size so that I can give ample time to each parent/family
sleep situation and questions. Also, I will be providing handouts and
guidelines following the class specific to each parent/family sleep
situation.

I will also be teaching the same class at Birthways on the following dates:
Saturday September 13th 3-5:30pm
Saturday November 8th 3-5:30pm
Tuesday December 2nd 6:30-9pm

Also, I will be teaching a series of classes on infant and toddler sleep at
Day One in San Francisco, starting in August/September, so please refer
folks in the City to these classes. My website www.angeliquemillette.com has
more info and dates about these classes.

Finally, I am in talks with a pediatric practice in Marin to teach a series
of classes on infant and toddler sleep and will be sending out an e-mail
when I have finalized the days, times and location for the class. Again, you
can also direct interested parties to my website www.angeliquemillette.com
to get more info.

Some of the topics/questions addressed in the class:
Co-sleeping and family bed
Transition to crib or room sharing
New swaddling research
How child developmental milestones and sleep interact in 0-24 months
Benefits of routine and schedule
Helping parents to get more sleep and rest
How to drop night feeds
Research about various sleep training methods
Preparing baby for sleep/location changes
Circadian rhythm development
Importance of naps for brain development

It is a very informative as well as family-centered class, and parents have
reported feeling like they could better serve their own sleep needs as well
as meeting their young child¹s developmental needs as a result of the info
taken from the class.

Thank you in advance for sharing this info and the attached flyer.

Warmly,
Angelique

Meet the Doulas of the Mt. Diablo Doula Community

Join us for a fun evening of discussion and education about how a Labor or Postpartum Doula can be of great help to you in your birthing and new parent experience. “The doula is emerging as a positive contribution to the care of women in labor (and just after birth). By attending to the woman’s emotional needs, some obstetric outcomes are improved. Just as importantly, the early mother-infant relationships and breastfeeding are enhanced. Women’s satisfaction with their birth experiences and even their self-esteem appears to improve when a doula has assisted them through childbirth.”
