Community Outreach

Giving back to our community is one of the goals of the Lamorinda Moms Club. As a member, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in the club’s community outreach projects. Some of the previous year’s events include our annual Holiday Adopt-A-Family program, during which members purchased and wrapped holiday gifts for 33 families in need; a Bay Area Crisis Nursery drive; a coat drive where members donated over 100 coats benefiting Shelter, Inc.; and a canned-food drive where nearly 500 pounds of food went to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano.

Community Outreach Project for the Annual Preschool Fair

In conjunction with the annual LMC Preschool Fair on Thursday November 15 from 6:30 to 9 p.m., our Community Outreach Committee will be once again gathering donations for the Bay Area Crisis Nursery (BACN). The purpose of the Bay Area Crisis Nursery is to prevent abuse and neglect of children by providing support to families who are in crisis. The primary service is providing a warm, loving, homelike environment for children birth through five years of age by offering 24-hour residential care. Services are free, confidential and voluntary.

Due to the space limitations associated with the start of BACN’s holiday toy drive, the Nursery will not be able to accept used donations until after the holidays.  Any used donations brought to the Fair will be donated to CARH (California Association for Retarded and Handicapped).
