In the better late than never department, the Consumer Product Safety Commission today announced a recall of two different Easter items because they violate the lead paint standard.

Federal safety regulators recalled an additional 2.4 million potentially deadly Mega Brands magnetic toys Monday, at least 14 months after learning there might be problems with some of those products.

 
Battat Recalls Magnabild Magnetic Toys Sets, Play Wonder Toy Sundae Sets Print Email

More Magnabild magnetic toy sets sold by Battat Inc. have been recalled because the small magnets in the toys can come loose, posing a risk of serious injury to children who swallow them. This recall marks the second time since January that Battat has issued an alert regarding its Magnabild magnetic play sets. In addition to the magnetic toy sets, Battat also announced today that it was recalling Play Wonder Toy Sundae Sets because they pose a choking hazard.

 
AP Probe Finds Drugs in Drinking Water Print Email
A vast array of pharmaceuticals — including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones — have been found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans, an Associated Press investigation shows.

    Combi USA, Inc. of Fort Mill, South Carolina, has decided to conduct a voluntary safety recall of the Centre, Centre ARB, Shuttle and associated Travel Systems after the products failed to perform in collision tests.

    Toy cars pose fire, burn hazard Print Email

    A battery-powered child’s riding car with Cinderella graphics on the sides and front is being voluntarily recalled because wires under the hood and or in the 12-volt battery compartment under the seat can short circuit resulting in fire and burn hazards to children, said Reno Fire Marshal Bill Burney.

     
    Another Bassettbaby Crib Recall Print Email

    Bassettbaby is recalling another in its “Wendy” line of cribs. In this recall, Bassettbaby is recalling the “Wendy Bellissimo Hidden Hills Collection” drop-side cribs because spindles on the drop-side of the crib could loosen creating a gap that poses an entrapment and strangulation hazard to children. No injuries have yet been reported in this case; however, Bassettbaby has received three reports of spindles coming loose. The crib recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
