- June 18 Extreme Engineering
12:00 noon–2:00 p.m. Take everything we've got and build a huge city. Build it high, wide,
over-the-top. Everyone contributes to create this metropolis.

SUMMER!
12:00 noon–2:00 p.m. Explore the reason for the season as we recreate the solstice on our
new, dramatic exhibit Science on a Sphere (SOS). Add in outdoor
activities like Sunprints, solar racing, and making sundials. (Weather
permitting for some activities.)
- July 2
Engineer This!
12:00 noon–2:00 p.m. Create new uses for these everyday items. Artists from East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse will lead the way.
- July 9 Nature's Engineers
with WildLIFE Associates
12:30 and 2:00 p.m. Animals are born engineers. Find out how several creatures make their homes.
- July 16
Ice Cream Day
12:00 noon–2:00 p.m. Make it. Eat it. Bring your own cup and spoon and receive free sprinkles.
- July 23
Water Race
12:00 noon–2:00 p.m. Get into our regatta. Make a boat and race it in our outdoor science
park Forces That Shape the Bay. Learn about what floats and why and get
techniques to make the fastest boat out there.
- July 30
Ancient Engineers
12:00 noon–2:00 p.m. Build your own pyramid. How did the Egyptians do it? Explore how
ancient cultures engineered structures that are still standing today.
- August 6
Sand Engineer 12:00 noon–2:00 p.m.
Try your hand at sand. Kirk Rademaker, master sand castle builder, will
help you engineer your sand sculpture. Explore what makes a beach and
who lives there.
- August 13
Circus!
12:00 noon–2:00 p.m.
Get a taste of trapeze with the children's performance troupe Trapeze
Arts. You'll get to try walking on a tightrope and stilts, as well as
learning to juggle.
