  • tomatoes w/vine still attached
  • small buffalo mozzarella or slices of the larger fresh mozzarella
  • peeled, sliced cucumber
  • green and black olives
  • shallots or green onion
  • very good quality extra virgin olive oil
  • sherry vinegar, red wine vinegar, cabernet vinegare, pomegranate, cherry or raspberry vinegar (not balsamic)
  • freshly ground black or white pepper
  • French sea salt or Kosher salt

InstructionsInstructions  On a large plate or serving platter, place round slices of fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, cucumber, sprinkling of your favorite green and black olives, and a sprinkling of finely minced shallots or green onions. Drizzle olive oil across the top. Sprinkle vinegar. Fresh ground black or white pepper and a pinch of French sea salt or a grinding of Kosher salt. Use a large flat-ish fork and spoon for pick up, even a spatula. This recipe looks particularly nice on a large plate with decorated edges, the kind you find at Crate & Barrel and such shops.
